Promotions
You are likely to see a small percentage of inventory on promotion each visit, but LULU does not like to put things on sale, so you will likely only see a style or two of each category on promotion.
Promotions are usually on the back wall and often will have a purple final price sticker easily visible on the price tag.
For every Promotion, you will need to collect:
1) An Original Starting Price
2) A New Price and/or % Discount
3) A Style count
The most common promotions are Percent and New price discounts and you may infrequently see a category-wide and storewide sales after the Holidays (note, these are very rare).
New Price:
These promotions are for items that are a specific price markdown. For example, if the t-shirts on one table are all discounted from $59.99 to $35.99.

Percent Discount:
These promotions are for items that are a specific percentage off the original price. For example, if the pants on one rack are all 20% off.

Category-Wide
This promotion should only be selected when the ENTIRE category is on the SAME promotion. For example, if all Tops were marked down 15%. These promotions are not too frequent, but they do occur so you should be familiar with the data.
Data to collect:
- $ Off or % Discount
- Minimum amount to spend or Minimum number of items to buy to get the promotional pricing (if there is no specific minimum spend, you can report the minimum amount as $1 and the minimum number of items is often 1)
- *NOTE: if the entire category is on sale, you'd report 100% of inventory ON promotion for the category
Storewide:
This promotion should only be selected when the ENTIRE store is on the SAME promotion. For example, if every item in the store was marked down 15%. These promotions are INFREQUENT, but they do occur so you should be familiar with the data.
Metrics to collect:
- $ Off or % Discount
- Minimum amount to spend or Minimum number of items to buy to get the promotional pricing (if there is no specific minimum spend, you can report the minimum amount as $1 and the minimum number of items is often 1)
- *NOTE: if the entire store is on sale, you'd report 100% of inventory ON promotion for every category
