Counting Styles

This part can be a little overwhelming on the first visits, but once you get your process down, this will become much easier. This is a great place to leverage your math skills as well.

Styles are: Any variation on a product

• The same bag shape/cut but in different colors, patterns, fabrics, or embellishments would count as a different style
• The same bag shape/cut/color, but in different sizes 

If we were counting styles for the following bags, we'd record 3 styles. Each bag is the same size and shape, but a different color. 

If we were counting styles for the following bags, we'd record 5 styles. We have five different colors of the same bag (black, white+tan, white, flowered, & blue)

While it may be tempting to count inventory, remember, we are only interested in the number of different styles available. If we were counting styles for the following bags, we'd record 5 styles. We have five different colors of the same bag (black, white+tan, white, flowered, & blue). Our count would not be 13 for the total number of bags (that is an inventory count).
