In-Store Traffic

While you are in the store, we will also ask you to periodically pop your head up and take a count of the number of shoppers you see browsing around the store and the number of shoppers checking out.

The best strategy for this is to count the traffic at intervals and then take the average:

• First Arrive: ​​Count the total number of Women & Men browsing in the store and checking out.
• Halfway through your visit: ​Count the total number of Women & Men browsing in the store and checking out.
• Before you Leave: Count the total number of Women & Men browsing in the store and checking out.
• Add these three interval counts and divide by three.

Specifically, you will be asked to record/report the following:

• The average number of Women and Men browsing (do NOT include those checking out) 
• How old were the Men and Women you observed? 
  
  • Under 12
  • 12 - 17
  • 18 - 24
  • 25 - 34
  • 35 - 49
  • 50 and older
  • Note: Ages can be a little difficult to pinpoint sometimes, so just do your best!
• The average number of Women and Men checking out
