Types of Stores

You will be assigned to a Retail or Outlet store (or both) for this project.

It is important to know which type of store you are assigned to as the metrics you collect will be slightly different based on store type.  If you are unsure of your store type prior to the visit, be sure to check the VMS and/or ask the research team prior to your visit. 

You will visit one or more of the following types of stores:

• Retail store: A store owned by the company and dedicated only to that one specific brand (i.e. a Kate Spade New York store).
• Outlet store: A store owned by the company (i.e. Kate Spade) that sells heavily discounted and/or out-of-season merchandise. Usually located in an outlet mall.

Be sure to consult the datasheets and sample surveys before heading out to your visits to ensure that you ​collect the appropriate metrics based on store type.
