What Is Not a Promotion

Occasionally, stores will put out signs and shelf stickers simply to draw attention to a brand or a product. Please be sure to read any signs or stickers to make sure they are indeed promotional and not just "hey, look at this!" signage. ​

Product Visibility Sign

Occasionally, stores will put out signage that is simply meant to call attention to a product. While some of these signs may look like promotional tag, be sure there is an actual discount being offered before recording the details as a promotion. If the price on the sign and the price on the product is the same, we know this is a product visibility sign and not a promotional sign. 

​Loyalty and Credit Card Promotions

Stores often offer promotions related to in-house loyalty and store credit cards. Because we only want to collect data on promotions that ALL customers can access, we will not collect data that is specifically tied to a loyalty program (even if it's free to join), a specific credit card, or that a customer must apply for a credit card to qualify for.
