What Is Not a Promotion
Occasionally, stores will put out signs and shelf stickers simply to draw attention to a brand or a product. Please be sure to read any signs or stickers to make sure they are indeed promotional and not just "hey, look at this!" signage.
Product Visibility Sign
Occasionally, stores will put out signage that is simply meant to call attention to a product. While some of these signs may look like promotional tag, be sure there is an actual discount being offered before recording the details as a promotion. If the price on the sign and the price on the product is the same, we know this is a product visibility sign and not a promotional sign.
Loyalty and Credit Card Promotions
Stores often offer promotions related to in-house loyalty and store credit cards. Because we only want to collect data on promotions that ALL customers can access, we will not collect data that is specifically tied to a loyalty program (even if it's free to join), a specific credit card, or that a customer must apply for a credit card to qualify for.
