Clearance Section: % of Category's Inventory on Clearance
For each category on Clearance, you will also estimate what percentage of the Clearance rack inventory fits into each pricing bucket. This is just an estimate, it's not an inventory count.
If there is only one discount (say $30) for the entire category, the % of inventory will be 100%.
If, however, there are multiple new prices, you will need to make sure the % of inventory column equals 100%.
For example
- You see Tops on Clearance
- Looking at the discounts, there are racks for inventory that are $8, $15, and $35
- You estimate that 90% of all of the Tops on Clearance are sitting on the $8
- You estimate that the remaining 10% of the Tops on Clearance are essentially equally split between the $15 and $35 racks
- You'd report:
- 90% of inventory in the <$9.99 bucket
- 5% of inventory in the $10-19.99 bucket
- 5% of inventory in the $30-39.99 bucket
The following is an example of multiple pricing buckets and the % of Clearance adding up to 100%
