Brand-Wide or Category-Wide
In some stores, you may encounter a type of promotion where the category or the brand is subject to the same markdown, usually at a percent off or dollars off. These promotions are easily spotted by signage on the display. Be sure to read in detail what exactly is on sale.

A brand-wide or category-wide promotion would be selected if the ENTIRE brand/category is subject to the SAME promotion.
The most common metrics to be collected on a brand or category-wide promotion are the following and will also be discussed in detail in each project specification:
- Brand or Category
- % off or $ off
- Minimum spend or minimum number of items to buy to qualify
- How was the promotion communicated?
- Does the promotion include items that are already on clearance?
Here is what the table may look in the survey. If for example we had a category-wide promotion, ALL dresses 10% OFF and no minimum spending amount to get the discount, we'd fill out the following:
