Markdowns at a New Price or Percent Discount
This promotion type is probably one of the most common promotions to see in store. New price or percent discount promotions are usually indicated by stickers on price tags and/or signage.
New Price Promotions: Include any prices that are marked down from the original price to a new, lower price. For example, a rack of pants all marked down from $59.99 to $35.99.
Percent Discount Promotions: Include any items that are marked at a % OFF. For example, some styles of men's shorts are 30% OFF.

The most common metrics to collect if this promotion is seen are below. Further details are discussed in each project specification and may vary to project:
- Item Category
- Style Count (Click here for further details on counting styles)
- Original Starting Price
- New Price/ % Discount
The New Price/% Discount table in your survey may look like the following examples
If we saw the following brands/categories at 25% off we need to be sure to collect the original starting price and the # of styles in each brand/category:

However, if we found various items marked down to a new price, we'd fill out the following information, including the original price, the new price (usually on the red/yellow sticker) and the number of styles in each brand/category.
