Gift Card Promotions
Gift Card with Purchase
When you make a purchase, you can get a store gift card with a certain amount of dollars to spend on future purchases. This promotion type is harder to find in a store and usually pops up in bigger department stores or supermarkets.
For this promotion, the customer would need to satisfy certain criteria, most likely a minimum spend, to qualify for the promotion.
Metrics:
- Brand
- Inventory category
- Minimum spend amount or minimum purchase amount
- Gift card amount
- Style count(s) for merchandise on promotion
- How the promotion was communicated
In the example on the left below, the minimum dollar amount would be $49.98, as you have to buy two packages at $24.99 to qualify for the gift card.
In the example on the right, you actually have two promotions that would need to be recorded separately. Also, this example is a little tricky because it makes it seem as if everything in the department should be marked 100% on promotion. However, you would only record a gift card promotion for items that were at or above the minimum spending amount to qualify ($125 or $200).
Please note, gift cards are *not* free gifts; there is a specific option in the survey to enter gift card promotion data.
