What is NOT a Promotion
Occasionally, stores will put out signs simply to draw attention to a product. Please be sure to read any signs or stickers to make sure they are indeed promotions and not just "hey, look at this!" signage.
Product Visibility Sign
Here are some examples of signage meant to draw attention, but that are not promotion signs. It shows a price for the display, but items are not discounted (aka there are no prices higher than $12.99) when we look at the price tags.
Here is a sign, simply stating trousers at $12.99, but does not indicate there are any promotions or discounts.
Here we have a sign pointing out prices starting from $7.99, but this sign is to draw attention, NOT a markdown. It's important to pay close attention to the details on the signs to make sure you are not recording a promotion where there isn't one.
Loyalty/Membership Promotions
Although stores offer promotions for loyalty members, we only want to record data on promotions that are open and available to ALL customers without having to do anything extra. So, any promotions that require a loyalty card or membership created through an app (even if it's free to join), do not need to be recorded.
