Special Displays
A special display includes displays that showcase and spotlight specific items on a retail floor. These displays are independent from main aisles. Below you will find information on common types of special displays. These are measured in linear inches, which you can find more information on here.

Endcap Displays
An endcap is a display of products at the end of an aisle, separate from what's considered the main display for that category of product. The endcaps you will see will either exist to highlight an ongoing sale/promotion, or to increase product visibility. In this iRobot endcap, you will notice there are unboxed sample products; this is common with endcap displays.

Multi-sided Displays
These displays are typically free-standing floor displays with multiple sides. The sides are typically composed of shelving, containing products we're interested in researching and collecting data on. In this YETI display, you will notice there is drinkware on one side of the shelf, and drinkware and coolers on the other side.

On Shelf Displays
This type of display is found in an aisle, but arranged in a unique manner that showcases the product. These displays typically take up only a portion of an aisle or shelf, and sometimes may occupy an entire merchandise space. They often resemble endcap displays in terms of product visibility and information available.

Pallet Displays
A pallet display holds bulk merchandise, stacked on pallets. These are usually free standing on the retail floor, with the merchandise neatly stacked as it was packaged for shipment.

Bin Display
A bin display is a large container, put in an aisle, with large amounts of product in it. These will sometimes be made of cardboard, sometimes of plastic, or even of wire. Not to be confused with a pallet display, based on how the merchandise is organized within the display. You'll know a bin when you see one!
Free-standing Floor Display
A freestanding floor display is usually made of cardboard and is set up to allow you to pick an item up for purchase off a shelf. Imagine a more interactive display model. In the Dyson display below, consumers are able to view the product in entirety, next to other products of the same product line.
